Walking in Pays Diois

Mountains in Pays Diois are accessible to all levels, from easy walks to trail running in altitude, there is something for everyone.
The highest summit is the Rocher Rond that culminates at 2453 meters requires significant experience to tackle but you can enjoy alpine pastures
at lower altitude or the peaceful charms of the valleys.

The diversity of climates means you can experience coolness in the Vercors and generous sunshine in Provence. The golden triangle between Die, Châtillon-en-Diois, Luc-en-Diois, as well as the Roanne and l’Oule Valleys are conducive to an early warm up season around April or for a prolongation until November.

The most stunning time of the year in nature is between May in the plains and June in the mountains when wild flowers blossoms in the pastures… At the heart of summer, when sheep transhume to the mountains, hikers follow in their footsteps in search for cooler temperatures on the plateaux of the Vercors, Lus-la-Croix-Haute or Valdrôme.
