Domaine des Hautes Glaces Whisky Distillery
Alpine farm distillery, the Domaine des Hautes Glaces makes local whisky aimed at sublimating the aromatic typicity of various grains grown in Trièves under organic and regenerative farming practices. Exceptional spirits to discover.
Founded in 2008 in the heart of the French Alps, the Domaine des Hautes Glaces was the first organic farm distillery in the world, putting cereals at the heart of the process, from farming to all processing steps into eau-de-vie then aged whisky.
Sublimating the aromatic cereal singularities through various vintages, soil-based zoning and aging in French barrels, the Hautes Glaces makes spirits with unique flavours and integrates the concept of terroir in the whisky world.
Collaborating with INRAE (agronomic conservatory) and Graines des Cimes, local farmers using sustainable and agroecological practices, the Domaine is also a place for experimentation and exchanges about testing various varieties of cereals and ways to conserve soil fertility and adapt to climate change.
