About

A sparkling 43km circuit, like the Clairette for which the region is famous. This progressive loop takes you to the heart of the small plots of vines, spread out on the hillsides at the foot of the impressive Glandasse cliffs.

Step by step

A tour as sparkling as the Clairette wine for which Die and the region are famous. The climate of the Pays Diois, between the coolness of the Vercors and the generous sunshine of Provence, is ideal for grapes and... for cyclists. This progressive loop takes you to the heart of some of France's highest vineyard plots, spread out on the hillsides between 300 and 700 meters above sea level, at the foot of the impressive Glandasse cliffs. Discover the legend of the birth of Clairette de Die at the Die Museum of History and Archaeology, or on the Cave Jaillance interpretation trail. Then take the "route de la Clairette" to discover its vineyards.
In Saint-Roman, stop off at one of the village's two wine cellars and continue on to Châtillon-en-Diois. Here, Gamay, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Aligoté and Chardonnay grapes produce "AOC Châtillon-en-Diois" red, rosé and white wines. The Domaine de Maupas cellar is well worth a visit for its exceptional setting: stone buildings, vineyards dotted with sheds, Glandasse as a backdrop. If you feel like it, take a detour to discover the charm of the medieval and botanical village of Châtillon-en-Diois. A heritage discovery trail will tell you more about the history of this beautiful village and its wine-growing heritage. Then head for Luc-en-Diois, where vines give way to walnut trees, another traditional crop. Return to Die via the "grande route" (beware of traffic) and then the small roads on the left bank of the River Drôme, where you'll find the Clairette and Muscat à petits grains grape varieties.
