À propos
Make the most of one of France’s Internation Dark Sky Reserve and the wonders of the sky are within your reach! With naked eyes and using a powerful telescope we will observe constellations, planets, nebulae and galaxies: the sky won't hold any secrets for you!
I lead astronomy evenings for beginners or an informed audience.
First we look at what can be seen at night and I explain basic notions of astronomy: what is the Milky Way? the Solar System, a galaxy, the Universe or a light-year? What is the difference between a planet and a star? Using a laser beam I will point at the main stars and their constellations from which derived their names.
In the second part of the evening the curious amongst you will be able to observe a whole panel of celestial objects visible from Earth with a telescope I have previously assembled: the Moon, planets, nebulae, star clusters, galaxies (observation of the Moon and planets will depend on the time of the year)
The session can be held anywhere in the valley as long as it is a few kilometers away from towns to avoid light pollution.
A sprinkle of dreams and philosophy and a fair share of poetry will make this evening under the remarkable sky of the Diois Valley, unique and unforgettable.
