About
The Auberge des Dauphins, in the heart of the forest of Saoû, is a space dedicated to scientific, historical and environmental research with permanent exhibition « Secrets de forêt » and temporary exhibition
The Auberge des Dauphins, located in the heart of the Forêt de Saoû, an Espace Naturel Sensible, is one of the must-see places in the Drôme valley.
Designed by Mr. Burrus, who owned the forest from 1924 to 1959, the Auberge des Dauphins is a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1930.
Dedicated to green tourism, the auberge enjoyed its heyday in the 1930s, before decades of neglect. In 2022, the inn was reborn as a site house managed by the Drôme department. Dedicated to understanding the perched syncline of Saoû and discovering the forest's natural riches, the permanent exhibition reveals the secrets of the forest, from its geological formation to its management today. Each year, a temporary exhibition for young visitors completes the offer.
The Auberge also offers new services to help visitors make the most of their stay in the forest: snacks in the gilded lounge for a moment of relaxation, a program of themed walks, workshops...
These are just some of the services available to help visitors understand and grasp the spirit of the place.
